World Book Day with Brown Books
At Luton Literature CIC, we’re all about encouraging a love of reading and improving literacy especially in young people, and what better way to do this than giving away free books on World Book Day?
Children from a local primary school were invited in to browse the selection of pre-loved children’s books at our shop (Brown Books, 77 High Town Road) on Thursday 7 March. 40 books were given away including some favourite classic tales of fairies and dragons to modern humour stories of bogies and toilets, there were plenty of books to choose from thanks to the kind donations we receive.
We were also joined by Labour South MP Rachel Hopkins, who chatted to the children about their favourite characters and stories, and she spoke with the team running the bookshop. A fantastic day, thanks to everyone who celebrated World Book Day with us.
