Luton Literature Book Festival is coming to town!
Luton Literature CIC is delighted to announce their first ever book festival, taking place on Saturday 24 September at the Hat Factory Arts Centre and Luton Central Library.
This exciting new festival – created for local children, young people, families and adults – aims to encourage the discovery and enjoyment of books, reading, writing, illustration, and all creative ways of engaging with stories.
Visitors will be able to take part in family friendly interactive sessions and talks by nationally renowned authors and find out about their work and their love for storytelling, covering a diverse range of genres and cultures.
For older children and young adults considering a career in literary works, or just wanting to find out how to create their stories for their enjoyment, illustration and creative writing workshops will be available.
As part of this literary celebration, there will also be a local author and illustrator press fair curated by Clod Magazine and Utter Lutonia, and held in Luton Central Library which celebrates its 60th birthday on the day of the festival.
Luton Literature is a not-for-profit CIC, which has been set up to encourage a love of reading and creative writing at any age through a range of events, activities and initiatives, and to promote the early uptake of reading in children.
The full line up will be released from Monday 25 July, with tickets going on sale in August.
Tickets for all the author events and workshops will need to be booked in advance through the Culture Trust website and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Age guidance is also on the website.
The local author and illustrator press fair is free entry to all.
The festival is Funded by Arts Council England, with funding support from Luton Rising, Luton BID, and Flamingo Arts, and is supported by 1 Degree East, The Culture Trust, Luton Libraries and the University of Bedfordshire.
